Abnormalities in the reproductive system itself can also cause fertility problems. Some of these defects can be congenital (present at birth), while others can arise later in life.

In this chapter different abnormalities, especially of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the uterus (womb) will be outlined. All can have an influence upon fertility.
