additional tests for men

For men, one of the first tests is usually a semen analysis. If the result shows a low sperm count or other problems, it will be repeated - one poor analysis result is not sufficient to make a diagnosis of sperm disorder. If abnormality persists, further examinations of the male - such as a sperm function test or a biopsy of the testicles - may be carried out.

A decision to undergo further tests might possibly be a bit discouraging, but as tests are completed and disorders excluded, you are, at least, steadily moving closer to a diagnosis.

This section contains detailed explanations about these specific tests for men. Most doctors take the time to explain these procedures to their patients. However, it is always useful to collect as much information as possible so that you are better prepared for the discussion with your doctor.
