This website helps me to prepare for conversations with my doctor:

support professionals

On top of support from your partner, friends or family, professional support can offer a unique and valuable perspective.

Even if you are good at coping with your emotions, professional support from someone with expertise in infertility problems can help you to understand your objectives and limitations, and help formulate reasonable expectations. Inexperienced friends and family can rarely offer such expertise. By consulting a psychologist or a specially trained counsellor in the early stages of your treatment, for example, you may possibly be better prepared for the treatment process itself. An extra advantage is the unprejudiced perspective that professional support can offer in times of conflict or indecision between you and your partner. Your relationship will remain strong by discussing problems at an early stage and in a neutral environment.

Seeking psychological support should in no way be regarded a sign of weakness. In fact it’s quite the opposite. Seeking help from a therapist is a brave and important step on fertility journey.
